Licence terms

What you buy, how many seats you can install it on, what happens when it expires. No sales are running today: the sections on selling apply from the day we open.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

These terms govern the use of the website wiringlab.studio (the "Site"), the use of the Wiring Lab software (the "Software") and, once sales open, the purchase of licences. The supplier is Fausto Maria Demetrio s.p., Vojkovo nabrežje 17, 6000 Koper, Slovenia — ID za DDV (VAT number) SI16258380, entered in the Slovenian business register (AJPES) under no. 8944288000, e-mail info@wiringlab.studio (referred to below as "we" or the "Supplier").

1. Current status: no sales in progress

Wiring Lab is under development. No sales take place on this Site: there is no basket, there is no checkout and we take no money. The only thing you can do is join the waiting list.

Joining the waiting list, which we also call a "pre-order" elsewhere, involves no payment, no binding order and no obligation to buy. It is not a contract of sale and it is not a paid reservation. It serves two purposes: to let us tell you when the Software is released, and to hold for you the launch price shown on the Site at the time you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to info@wiringlab.studio.

Sections 6, 7 and 8 (conditions of sale, prices, withdrawal and refunds) are published now for transparency, but they will apply only from the moment sales actually open. Until then they remain information only.

2. Use of the site

The Site is an informational website. You may browse it freely. You may not interfere with its operation, attempt to access non-public areas or data, overload the infrastructure with automated requests, or reuse the content of the Site for commercial purposes without our written consent.

The information about the Software published on the Site describes a product under development. Features, release dates and prices may change until version 1.0 is released. Statements on the Site do not constitute a contractual offer.

3. Waiting list

To join the waiting list you give us your e-mail address, the edition you are interested in, the number of seats and your language. We also record the country the request comes from and the date. We do not keep your IP address.

We use this data only to tell you about the release and to apply the launch price to your purchase. We do not sign you up to any newsletter and we do not pass the data to third parties. The details are in the privacy policy.

You confirm that the e-mail address you enter is yours or that you are authorised to use it.

4. Software licence (EULA)

4.1 Grant

When the Software becomes available, and subject to payment of the sum due for the paid editions and to compliance with these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to use the Software within the limits of the edition and plan purchased: number of seats, duration, features.

The Viewer edition is free and serves only to open and read projects in read-only mode and to export them to PDF. The restrictions in section 4.3 and the exclusions in sections 8 and 9 apply to the Viewer as well.

4.2 Seats and activation

One licence authorises use on the number of seats purchased. Paid licences are activated and validated by means of a licence key; the number of activations may be limited depending on the plan. Activation requires an internet connection; day-to-day use of the Software does not.

4.3 What is not permitted

Except as permitted by mandatory provisions of law, you may not:

  • copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the Software;
  • decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it, except within the limits mandatorily allowed by applicable law;
  • rent, resell, distribute or sublicense the Software or the licence key;
  • share the licence key with unauthorised persons;
  • circumvent, disable or tamper with the licence activation and validation mechanisms;
  • use the Software unlawfully, to harm third parties or to compromise the security of our systems.

4.4 Your projects remain yours

The projects, drawings, bills of materials, libraries and other content you create with the Software remain your exclusive property. The Software works offline and project files stay on your disk: we do not receive them and we do not store them. You are responsible for your content, for your backups and for its compliance with the law.

4.5 Intellectual property

The Software, the Site, the Wiring Lab name and logo and the related intellectual property rights remain with the Supplier or its licensors. These terms transfer no ownership right in the Software: they grant only the licence of use described above. Third-party components included in the Software remain subject to their respective licences, listed in the legal notice.

4.6 Updates and availability

We may release updates, fixes and new features. We do not warrant that the Software is free of errors or that it will remain unchanged over time. For any services provided over the network (for example licence activation) we aim for reasonable availability, but interruptions may occur for maintenance, technical causes or force majeure.

4.7 Anonymous usage statistics

The Software includes an optional usage statistics feature, switched off by default. If you switch it on, the Software sends an anonymous, aggregated summary, with no project data and no data identifying you or your clients. You can switch it off at any time. The details are in the privacy policy.

5. The Software is a design tool, not a certifying body

Wiring Lab performs calculations and checks against technical rules and standards, and cites the source of each result. It nevertheless remains a support tool: responsibility for the technical verification, the safety and the regulatory compliance of the design, of the installation and of the products built remains entirely yours and that of the qualified professionals who sign off the work.

We are not affiliated with the standards bodies cited in the Software and we issue no certificates of conformity. The trade marks and names of the standards belong to their respective owners.

6. Conditions of sale (in force once sales open)

The clauses in this section, in section 7 and in section 8 will apply to purchases made once sales are open. At present they have no effect because it is not possible to buy.

6.1 Planned editions and prices

EditionPlanned priceWhat it includes
ViewerFreeOpening projects in read-only mode and export to PDF. No editing, no DXF, SVG or CSV export.
Audio€399 one-offPerpetual licence for the version purchased, with 12 months of updates included. After the 12 months, renewing the updates costs €129 a year and is optional.
Pro€119 a month, or €1,190 a yearSubscription. Includes the Audio edition plus the multi-building, network, video and commercial features.

The Software is planned for macOS and Windows.

Multi-licence discounts are planned from 2 seats upwards. The prices shown on the Site are in euro and include VAT where VAT is due. Outside the euro area the list price is the same figure in US dollars; in the United States sales tax is added at the checkout according to the billing state. Applicable taxes are calculated and shown by Paddle at the point of purchase, on the basis of your country and of whether you are a consumer or a VAT-registered business. Prices may change until sales open; for those on the waiting list, the price shown on the Site at the time of signing up applies.

6.2 Audio perpetual licence

The Audio licence is perpetual: you pay once and the version you obtain remains usable indefinitely, offline as well, and also after the update period has expired. If you do not renew the updates, the Software keeps working in the version you have; you simply do not receive later versions.

6.3 Pro subscription: renewal, reminders and cancellation

The Pro subscription is a recurring payment. Before you pay, the checkout states in full what you are subscribing to, the amount, how often it recurs and the date of the first renewal, and asks for your express consent to the recurring charge. Nothing is charged without that consent.

The subscription renews automatically on expiry, monthly or annually according to the plan chosen, at the price in force, unless cancelled before the renewal date.

How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, with no reason and no cancellation fee, from the link in your purchase receipt and in the renewal reminders, which opens the subscription management page; or by writing to info@wiringlab.studio; or by contacting Paddle directly. Cancelling takes no more steps than subscribing did. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, which remains usable in full. When the subscription ends, the features reserved to the Pro edition are no longer available; project files remain yours and on your disk.

Reminders. We send you a reminder before every annual renewal, and before any renewal that follows a free or discounted period, by e-mail, stating the renewal date, the amount that will be charged and how to cancel. This commitment applies to every customer, wherever resident; in some countries, among them the United States for subscribers in California and the United Kingdom under the subscription rules expected to come into force in 2027, it is also a legal requirement.

Price changes. Any price change will be notified in advance and will apply from the following renewal. If you do not accept it you can cancel before it takes effect.

6.4 Conclusion of the contract, seller and invoicing

Once sales are open, the purchase will be handled by Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record. This means that the contract of purchase will be concluded between you and Paddle: it is Paddle that sells, takes the payment, issues the invoice and applies the VAT or other taxes due in your country. The contract will be concluded at the moment you receive the order confirmation.

The licence to use the Software described in section 4 remains, by contrast, a contract between you and Fausto Maria Demetrio s.p.: Paddle resells the licence but does not become the licensor. The Software, the licence and support remain our responsibility.

In practice: for the licence, for how the Software works and for support, write to info@wiringlab.studio; for payments, invoices, billing details and VAT the counterparty is Paddle, which you can contact using the details shown on the receipt and on the purchase page. For refund requests, see the withdrawal and refunds page.

Paddle collects and processes payment and billing data as an independent controller: we neither see nor store your card details. The details are in the privacy policy.

6.5 Consumers and business customers

In this document a consumer is a natural person who buys for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Anyone else — companies, sole traders buying for their work, public bodies — is a business customer.

The distinction matters: the statutory rights of withdrawal and the statutory guarantee of conformity described below are granted by law to consumers only. Business customers do not have them. The 14-day commercial guarantee we offer voluntarily, described on the withdrawal and refunds page, applies to everyone, consumers and businesses alike.

Wiring Lab is a professional design tool and most of our customers are businesses. If you buy with a VAT number, you are buying as a business.

7. Withdrawal and refunds

The rules on the right of withdrawal, on refunds and on the statutory guarantee of conformity are set out on the withdrawal and refunds page, which forms an integral part of these terms. In outline:

  • Consumers in the European Union and the EEA have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days, subject to the exception for digital content whose supply has begun with their express consent and acknowledgement. That exception applies to the Audio licence; it does not apply to the Pro subscription, which is a continuing supply.
  • Consumers in the United Kingdom have an equivalent right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, with the same exception for digital content, and the rights given by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • Customers in the United States have no federal cooling-off right for this kind of purchase; what applies is our commercial guarantee, together with the rules on recurring payments described in section 6.3 and any mandatory provisions of the law of their state.
  • Consumers in other countries keep any mandatory rights granted by the law of their country of residence, where applicable, in addition to our commercial guarantee.
  • Business customers have no statutory right of withdrawal, and are covered by our commercial guarantee.

Our 14-day commercial guarantee is offered voluntarily to everyone, in every country: if within 14 days of purchase the Software is not right for you, we refund it, even where no statutory right applies or where it has already been waived.

8. Statutory guarantee and limits

If you are a consumer, you are entitled to the statutory guarantee of conformity provided by law, which cannot be excluded or limited by these terms. Nothing in this document reduces the mandatory rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence.

Beyond the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is", without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement of the rights of others. We do not warrant that the Software is free of errors or suitable for specific requirements not agreed in writing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Software in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the damage. Liability for indirect damage, loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption is excluded.

These limitations do not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, of damage to life, physical integrity or health, or in the other cases where liability cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer protection rules.

10. Export control

You undertake to comply with applicable export control and international sanctions legislation and not to use the Software in breach of it.

11. Duration and termination

These terms apply for as long as you use the Site or the Software. We may suspend or revoke the licence, with notice where reasonably possible, in the event of a material breach of sections 4.3 or 4.5 that is not remedied within a reasonable period, or of fraudulent use. Where the licence is revoked because of your breach, no refund is due, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. You may stop using the Software at any time.

12. Changes

We may amend these terms for justified reasons, such as developments in the product or legal obligations. Material changes will be notified with reasonable advance notice, by e-mail or through the Site. For subscriptions, changes apply from the following renewal. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the last updated date at the top.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Slovenian law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of habitual residence continue to apply, and the court designated by law, as a rule the court of your place of residence, remains competent. This follows from Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I) for consumers resident in the European Union, and we apply the same principle to consumers resident anywhere else.

In particular, nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumers in the United Kingdom have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or the rights that customers in the United States have under the mandatory consumer protection law of their state.

In dealings between businesses, the courts of Koper, Slovenia have exclusive jurisdiction.

Consumers may also turn to the alternative dispute resolution bodies competent in their own country.

14. Final provisions

If any clause is invalid, the validity of the others is unaffected. Failure to exercise a right does not amount to a waiver. These terms, together with the privacy policy, the cookie policy, the withdrawal and refunds page and the legal notice, constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to the Site and the Software.

These terms are published in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish and Slovenian. Each version is authoritative for the person who reads it in that language: if you are a consumer, the version in the language in which these terms were presented to you is the one that binds us towards you, and no other version may be relied on against you. Between business customers, in the event of a discrepancy the English version prevails.
