What data we collect, why, and how long we keep it. The software works offline and sends your projects nowhere.
This policy explains what personal data we collect on wiringlab.studio (the "Site") and in the Wiring Lab software (the "Software"), why we collect it and what you can ask us for. It is drawn up under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR").
The data controller is Fausto Maria Demetrio s.p., Vojkovo nabrežje 17, 6000 Koper, Slovenia — ID za DDV (VAT number) SI16258380, Slovenian business register (AJPES) no. 8944288000.
We are the controller for the data collected by the Site and by the waiting list. Once sales are open, the independent controller for the payment and billing data collected during checkout will be Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record: see section 7.
For any question about your data, write to info@wiringlab.studio. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer; requests are handled directly by the controller.
When you join the waiting list we record:
CF-IPCountry header added by Cloudflare: a simple two-letter country code;We do not keep your IP address together with this data and we do not ask you for your first name, surname, company, telephone number or payment details.
For two purposes only: to tell you when the Software is released and to give you the launch price in force at the time you signed up. The data on the edition, the seats and the country also helps us understand, in aggregate form, which editions are of interest and in which markets.
We do not sign you up to any newsletter, we do not send you general marketing messages and we do not use this data to profile you or for advertising.
Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, given by submitting the form. Providing the data is optional: if you do not sign up you can still use the Site. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Until you withdraw your consent, and in any event no longer than the launch of the Software plus a reasonable period to complete the release announcements and to apply the launch price. After that the data is deleted or anonymised. If you ask us to delete it earlier, we do so without delay.
The waiting list data is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, the key-value store of the platform that hosts the Site. It is not transmitted to other services and it is not disclosed or sold to third parties.
Write to info@wiringlab.studio from the address you signed up with, or stating the address to be removed. We act without delay and confirm the deletion to you.
The Site is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. Like any online service, the infrastructure automatically records technical data about requests — IP address, browser type, operating system, page requested, date and time — which is necessary to deliver the pages, to block abuse and attacks and to keep the Site available. These logs stay within Cloudflare's infrastructure, are kept for short periods according to the service settings and are not used by us to identify you or to profile you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and proper functioning of the Site, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We use no third-party analytics or statistics tools: no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no cross-site tracking.
If you contact us by e-mail we process the data you give us — e-mail address, name if you state it, content of the message — in order to answer your request. Legal basis: the performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures at your request, Article 6(1)(b), or our legitimate interest in replying, Article 6(1)(f). We keep the correspondence for as long as is needed to handle the request and, as a rule, no longer than 24 months after it is closed, except where it is needed to document an ongoing relationship or for the establishment or defence of legal claims.
Our e-mail is run by a third-party e-mail service provider, which acts as a processor.

We do not sell your data and we do not disclose it to third parties for marketing purposes. The only parties that may process it on our behalf are:
These providers act as processors under an agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. We may also disclose data to the competent authorities where we are required to do so by law.
Once sales are open, the purchase will be handled by Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record and as an independent controller, not as our processor. During checkout Paddle collects the contact and billing data, the payment data and the tax data needed to conclude the sale, take the payment, issue the invoice and apply the VAT due in your country, as well as for the fraud checks and the accounting and tax obligations that fall on it. Paddle processes this data for its own purposes and under its own responsibility, in accordance with Paddle's privacy policy, available on Paddle's website.
From Paddle we receive only the data needed to issue and manage the licence and to provide support: essentially the buyer's e-mail address, the product purchased and the order reference. We do not receive and do not store your payment card details. For the data we receive from Paddle we are the controller, and the rules described in this policy apply.
Some providers are established or have infrastructure outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. Where this involves a transfer of personal data, it takes place on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, or on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, supplemented where necessary by additional measures.
Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you may at any time:
To exercise these rights, write to info@wiringlab.studio. We reply within one month; the period may be extended in the cases provided for by the GDPR, and we will tell you if it is.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: the Slovenian authority, which is competent for us, is the Informacijski pooblaščenec, Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia (www.ip-rs.si). Alternatively you may turn to the authority of your country of habitual residence; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
The Site uses only the technical cookies that Cloudflare may set for security purposes. We use no profiling, advertising or analytics cookies. The details are in the cookie policy.
Wiring Lab is a desktop application for macOS and Windows. It works offline: a project is a file on your disk. The Software does not send us your projects, your drawings, your clients' data, your bills of materials or your documents, and we hold no copy of them.
The Software includes an optional anonymous usage statistics feature, switched off by default. If you switch it on, the Software sends an anonymous, aggregated summary when a project is delivered: a random project identifier that cannot be linked to you or to your clients, the application version, the delivery date and, where applicable, the country and the cable quantities by manufacturer and model. No names, client data, addresses, project content or your IP address are sent or stored.
Legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time by switching the option off in the application settings. Withdrawal does not affect data already aggregated in anonymous form, which can no longer be traced back to you. We use these statistics to improve the product and to produce aggregate industry data, which may be shared with partner manufacturers only ever in aggregated, anonymous form.
Once paid licences are live, licence activation will involve processing your e-mail address, the licence key and an identifier of the device on which the licence is activated, for the sole purpose of managing and validating the licence.
Today we sell nothing and we process no payment data. Once sales are open, payment collection, invoicing and VAT will be handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record and independent controller, as described in section 7; we will process the data needed to issue and manage the licence and to provide support. We will update this policy before they start with the final details, including the legal bases and the retention periods. Under no circumstances will we use the waiting list data for purposes other than those set out in section 3 without asking you for fresh consent.
The Site and the Software are not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect children's data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the data: encrypted connections, access restricted to the data that is strictly needed, and collection kept to the minimum. No system, however, is absolutely secure: in the event of a personal data breach involving a high risk to your rights, we will inform you as required by Article 34 GDPR.
United Kingdom and Switzerland. The provisions of the UK GDPR and of Swiss data protection law apply equivalently: the rights described above apply in the same way.
California. We do not "sell" and do not "share" personal information within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and we do not process sensitive personal information. California residents have the right to know what we collect and why, to obtain a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of any sale or sharing, which in our case does not arise. You can exercise these rights, yourself or through an authorised agent, by writing to info@wiringlab.studio; we reply within 45 days. Exercising them brings no discriminatory treatment: the price and the service stay the same.
Other countries. We process the data of all users according to the standards described in this policy, applying any further safeguards required by local law.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Site, to the Software or to the law. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the last updated date at the top. If we make material changes affecting processing based on your consent, we will tell you and, where necessary, ask you for fresh consent.
